Introducing it in 1981 alongside the excellent X-700 camera, Minolta was kinda late to the party: while all other major manufacturers had introduced surprisingly similar Ernostar derivatives in the decades before (Zeiss 1971, Nikon 1975, Canon 1980), this 720g beast from \u014csaka would in my opinion take the cake.<\/p>\n
A classic Ernostar configuration consisting of six elements in five groups gives this lens its signature look: great centre sharpness gently transitioning into hearty but pleasant falloff.
