Everyone loves fast lenses. Superlatives are rad. Ultra-rare lenses are fascinating. And presumably I don\u2019t have to tell you how big my crush on Astro Berlin is.<\/p>\n
The \u201cTachon\u201d brand and patent were first applied for in April 1931 as a 100mm f\/1.3 design by Bielicke. This slightly different and incredibly potent 8E\/5G design Gramatzki calculated a year later strangely doesn\u2019t show up in the federal patent register!<\/p>\n
It was produced in several variants and speeds: 35mm for C-mount and the \u201cMini-fex\u201d \u2014 a 16mm still camera costing FOUR times what a Leica did in its day.<\/p>\n
Astro made derivatives of it in 180mm f\/1.2 for 6\u00d76 and in 65mm f\/0.75 (no typo) for 16mm cinematography as well.<\/p>\n
Astro Berlin made quite a few different, ambitious unicorn-designs over their almost 70 years of history. Those lenses are the epitome of Astro \u2014 writing history but certainly no black numbers in their books.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
